5 Mbps push-pull — fast enough for isolated SPI and fieldbus
Rated for 5 Mbps, the TLP2310(TPL,E handles isolated SPI, RS-485 enable signals, and general-purpose digital isolation at moderate speeds. Propagation delay is 250 ns max, which fits most control-loop timing budgets in motor drives and power supplies.
25 kV/µs CMTI — rejects fast common-mode noise
That is the key spec for staying reliable in noisy industrial environments — motor drives, inverters, and switching power supplies where high dV/dt edges can couple across the isolation barrier. At this level, the optocoupler maintains data integrity even when the ground plane jumps several hundred volts in a microsecond.
3750 Vrms — reinforced isolation for mains-connected gear
The 3750 Vrms isolation voltage qualifies for reinforced insulation in many AC-mains applications, including power supplies, motor drives, and industrial controls. The 6-SOIC 5-lead package (4.55 mm width) is a compact footprint that still provides adequate creepage for basic isolation in space-constrained PCBs.
Sourcing and verification note
Because this is an active, high-volume optocoupler, the risk of counterfeit parts in the supply chain is low but not zero. When sourcing through independent distribution, check that the date-code and marking font on the 6-SOIC package match Toshiba's known production plants — the laser etch should be crisp and consistent across a reel.
