Single-channel optocoupler with AC/DC input and 3750Vrms isolation
The Toshiba TLP184(BL-TPL,SE is a single-channel transistor-output optocoupler in a 6-SOP surface-mount package. The output transistor is rated for 80V and 50mA continuous, with a typical Vce(sat) of 300mV.
The BL rank CTR floor of 200% at 5mA If means the output transistor can saturate with a relatively low LED current — useful when the microcontroller GPIO or a logic gate drives the LED directly through a series resistor. The 600% ceiling gives headroom for degraded LED output over temperature or lifetime. Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 3µs each, with rise/fall times of 2µs and 3µs respectively, so the part handles 100 kbps signaling without issue. For faster edges, the 3µs propagation delay needs to be budgeted in the control-loop phase margin.
