Product details

Single AND gate with open-drain output for mixed-voltage logic

The Toshiba TC7SH09FU,LJ(CT is a single 2-input AND gate from the TC7SH series, featuring an open-drain output that allows wired-OR connections and level translation between different supply domains. Propagation delay is 7.5ns at 5V with a 50pF load, fast enough for most control and data-path applications up to 20 MHz. The open-drain output sinks up to 8mA, which can drive LEDs, optocouplers, or small relays directly when a pull-up resistor is added.

The wide 2V to 5.5V supply eliminates the need for a dedicated voltage regulator in mixed-voltage designs; the same part can be used on a 3.3V microcontroller bus and a 5V peripheral interface. Quiescent current is just 2 µA maximum, so it adds negligible standby drain in battery-powered equipment.

It is ROHS3 compliant. No immediate obsolescence risk — suitable for new designs.

Frequently asked questions

Does TC7SH09FU have an open-drain output?

Yes, the output is open-drain, which allows wired-OR connections and level translation to higher or lower voltages via an external pull-up resistor.
