Automotive-grade pre-biased NPN in SOT-723
The RN1104MFV,L3XHF(CT is an NPN pre-biased transistor from Toshiba's automotive series, qualified to AEC-Q101. It integrates two 47 kOhm resistors — one in series with the base (R1) and one between base and emitter (R2) — eliminating two external passives from the BOM.
The 100 mA continuous collector current is the DC limit; pulse currents can go higher, but the 150 mW total power dissipation in the SOT-723 package is the real thermal ceiling. At 100 mA and 300 mV Vce(sat), the device dissipates 30 mW, leaving headroom for ambient temperatures up to 150 °C junction.
Active lifecycle, AEC-Q101 qualified
The series designation (Automotive, AEC-Q101) is the same across the RN1104MFV family, so any sibling in this series shares the qualification level. For dual-sourcing, the RN1417(TE85L,F) is a functional NPN pre-biased alternative, but note its resistor divider is 10 kOhm / 4.7 kOhm — a different switching threshold that may require re-calculating the base drive in the target circuit.
