Eight channels, 50 V, 500 mA — the workhorse driver
Each Darlington pair includes a base resistor and an integrated suppression diode for inductive loads, so you can drive relays, solenoids, stepper motors, or lamp banks directly from a microcontroller or logic gate without extra flyback protection.
Saturation voltage and thermal budget
At 350 mA collector current with 500 µA base drive, the Vce(sat) is 1.6 V maximum. That 1.6 V drop times the load current is the per-channel power dissipation — at 350 mA it is 0.56 W per channel, so the total eight-channel dissipation can exceed 4 W if all outputs are loaded.
