The UCC2800DTR is a current-mode PWM controller that supports boost, flyback, and forward converter topologies. The 500 µA typical supply current keeps the bias overhead low in always-on or light-load designs — a meaningful difference when the controller shares a bias rail with other housekeeping circuits. Operating from a 6.9 V to 11 V supply rail, it fits into the standard secondary-side bias range for off-line converters. The -0.3 V to 6.3 V input voltage range on the feedback pin allows direct sensing from a resistor divider without an external clamp.
Industrial temperature grade — -40°C to 125°C ambient
Rated for -40°C to 125°C ambient (TA), the UCC2800DTR covers the full industrial temperature envelope. An outdoor telecom PSU or a motor-drive bias supply that sees 105°C on a hot day still has margin to the upper limit. The 8-SOIC package is a standard surface-mount footprint — 0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm. No thermal pad, so the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is set by the copper area on the PCB. A 2-layer board with a solid ground plane under the SOIC is sufficient for the controller's own dissipation.
