2.5A source / 5A sink — asymmetric drive for fast turn-off
The UCC27531DR delivers 2.5A peak source and 5A peak sink. That 2:1 sink-to-source ratio is deliberate: it pulls the gate down hard to shave off the Miller plateau during turn-off, which matters when driving IGBTs or large MOSFETs where the tail current eats into switching loss. The 15ns rise and 7ns fall times back up the asymmetry — expect the turn-off edge to be roughly half the turn-on edge, which keeps the dead-time budget predictable.
Operates from 10V to 32V, covering the common 12V and 24V industrial rails without an external regulator. The logic thresholds are 1.2V (VIL) and 2.2V (VIH), so a 3.3V or 5V PWM signal from an MCU or DSP drives it directly — no level shifter needed. The non-inverting input keeps the control logic simple; one PWM line per channel.
140°C junction — headroom for hot environments
Rated for -40°C to 140°C junction temperature. That 140°C ceiling is 15°C above the typical 125°C industrial limit, which gives you margin in motor-drive cabinets, under-hood automotive boxes, or any spot where the ambient hits 85°C and the self-heating from the gate drive adds another 20–30°C. The 8-SOIC copper pad area under the die sets the thermal resistance — a 1 oz pour with vias to an inner plane keeps the junction below the derating knee.
