5 A peak drive — what it buys the switching loop
The UCC27524ADR is a TI dual low-side gate driver that delivers 5 A peak source and 5 A peak sink current, enough to slam the gate of a large IGBT or N-Channel MOSFET on and off in 7 ns rise and 6 ns fall time. That drive strength translates directly into lower switching losses in a 48 V or 400 V DC-DC stage because the Miller plateau is traversed fast enough to keep the transistor out of the linear region during the transition.
140°C junction — motor-drive and engine-bay margin
Rated for a junction temperature of -40°C to 140°C, this driver keeps the thermal headroom above the 125°C ceiling of many competitors. In a motor inverter or a 48 V automotive auxiliary supply where the ambient around the controller board hits 105°C, the 140°C Tj rating means the die does not derate the 5 A output or force a heatsink.
Supply and logic thresholds
The supply range spans 4.5 V to 18 V, covering the common 5 V, 12 V, and 15 V gate-drive rails.
