That 4A peak lets it charge and discharge the gate capacitance of medium-power MOSFETs and IGBTs fast enough to keep switching losses in check — think 600V/30A IGBT modules in motor drives or 100V/50A MOSFETs in synchronous buck converters. The supply range spans 4V to 15V, so it runs off a 5V or 12V bias rail without a secondary regulator.
Two independent channels, non-inverting inputs
Each of the two drivers has its own non-inverting input and independent output, so you can drive two separate MOSFETs with independent PWM signals — useful for dual-switch forward converters or two-phase interleaved designs. The logic input thresholds are 1V (VIL) and 2V (VIH), which are compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic families from most MCUs and DSPs. The gate type is specified for both N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs, though in practice the low-side configuration drives the gate of an N-channel device to ground.
Surface-mount assembly is straightforward with standard reflow profiles.
