The UC3844AD8TRG4: It delivers a single transistor-driver output with a maximum duty cycle of 48%, making it suited for single-ended topologies where the off-time must exceed the on-time to reset the transformer core. The switching frequency reaches up to 500 kHz, allowing smaller magnetics at the cost of higher switching losses — a trade-off the designer budgets in the thermal analysis.
The controller operates from a 10 V to 30 V supply rail (Vcc/Vdd), which covers the standard bias voltages for off-line AC-DC auxiliary windings and telecom bus converters.
