Topology flexibility and control features
The UC3823AN supports boost, flyback, forward, half-bridge, full-bridge, and push-pull topologies — a single BOM line covers multiple converter architectures, useful for a platform design that spins off different output stages. Control features include current limit, frequency control, a programmable ramp, and soft start. The 100% max duty cycle allows the low-side switch to stay on through the full period in boost or flyback, simplifying the transformer reset design.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 16-pin PDIP (0.300" body, 7.62 mm width), the through-hole package suits prototyping, low-volume builds, and boards where rework access matters — the pin pitch is 2.54 mm, compatible with standard perfboard and sockets. For extended-temperature designs (e.g., -40 °C to +85 °C), a different grade variant would be needed.
