Multi-topology PWM controller for isolated and non-isolated supplies
The Texas Instruments UC2846DW is a current-mode PWM controller that handles boost, flyback, forward, half-bridge, full-bridge, and push-pull topologies. It drives two transistor outputs with a 50% maximum duty cycle, switching up to 500 kHz. The controller includes synchronous rectification drive, clock sync, and control features like current limit, enable, frequency control, and soft start. Supply range is 6.95 V to 40 V, and it operates over -40°C to 85°C ambient. The 16-SOIC package suits surface-mount assembly for industrial power supplies, telecom DC-DC converters, and battery-powered step-up stages.
