Dual RS232/RS423 line driver in 8-SOIC
The UA9636ACD is a dual line driver from Texas Instruments supporting both RS232 and RS423 protocols. It provides two driver outputs with no integrated receivers (2/0 configuration), making it a pure transmit-side component for serial interfaces. The supply voltage is specified at 10.8V to 13.2V, which aligns with a ±12V rail common in legacy serial port designs. A 5V-only system will not power this part—confirm your rail before committing the BOM.
Supply rail and temperature envelope
The 10.8V–13.2V supply range is tighter than many modern single-supply RS232 transceivers that operate from 3.3V or 5V. If your board already carries a ±12V rail, the UA9636ACD drops in without a regulator; if not, the rail must be generated or a different driver selected. This part is not rated for industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, or under-hood environments—those applications need an industrial-temperature variant.
Active production and sourcing posture
For reel or tape-and-reel quantities, confirm the packaging code suffix with your distributor—tube is the default for this order code.
