The TXS0104EQPWRQ1 is a Texas Instruments 4-channel bidirectional voltage-level translator from the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series.
24 Mbps — sizing the bus margin
The 24 Mbps data rate is the maximum signaling speed across the translator. For SPI at 20 MHz or UART at 3 Mbps, this leaves headroom; for a 50 MHz QSPI interface, the part is not a fit. The open-drain output mode trades speed for multi-drop bus compatibility (I2C, SMBus), while push-pull mode gives the full 24 Mbps. If your design needs 100+ Mbps, look at the SN74LXC2T45DTTR (420 Mbps) or the CAXC4T774QBQBRQ1 (310 Mbps, also AEC-Q100), but note those are 2-channel or unidirectional variants — the TXS0104EQPWRQ1's 4-channel bidirectional topology is rarer in automotive grade.
For dual-sourcing, the CAXC4T774QBQBRQ1 (also AEC-Q100, 4-channel bidirectional, 310 Mbps) is a functional alternative, though its supply voltage floor of 0.65 V is lower — verify compatibility with your VCCA/VCCB rails before substituting.
14-TSSOP footprint — layout notes
Surface-mount only. The auto-direction sensing means no DIR pin to route — just the two supply rails and four bidirectional I/O lines. Decouple each supply pin with a 0.1 µF ceramic placed within 2 mm of the pin; the datasheet recommends 1 µF bulk capacitance per rail if the translator is more than 5 cm from the power source. No thermal pad — junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is handled through the leads and PCB copper.
