Four-channel level shifter with auto-direction sensing
The Texas Instruments TXS0104EDR is a 4-channel bidirectional voltage-level translator designed for open-drain and push-pull applications where the direction of data flow changes without a dedicated control signal. Auto-direction sensing means the part detects the drive direction on each channel independently, so no GPIO pin is wasted on a direction line — useful for I2C, SMBus, or one-wire interfaces where the bus master role can shift.
Supply rails set the translation window
The 1.65 V floor on VCCA also covers 1.8 V nominal supplies with margin, and the 5.5 V ceiling on VCCB handles 5 V TTL rails. The 24 Mbps data rate is enough for standard-mode I2C (100 kHz / 400 kHz), SPI up to a few MHz, and UART at typical baud rates, but falls short for high-speed interfaces like SDIO or USB 2.0.
Industrial temperature range, active lifecycle
ROHS3 compliant, no exemption issues for EU markets.
