The Texas Instruments TXB0104DRG4 is a four-channel, bidirectional voltage-level translator with auto-direction sensing, rated for data rates up to 100 Mbps. The auto-direction sensing eliminates the need for a direction-control pin, so the part is a drop-in for open-drain and push-pull interfaces where the bus direction changes dynamically — think I²C, MDIO, or a UART TX/RX pair. The 100 Mbps rating means it handles SPI at 50 MHz or a parallel bus running at moderate clock rates without adding a cycle of latency.
Supply rails and temperature range
VCCB accepts 1.65 V to 5.5 V. The part does not require a specific power-up sequence — either rail can come up first — but the output state during power-up is undefined until both supplies are within tolerance.
For BOM planning, this removes the risk of a last-time-buy window closing unexpectedly.
