What this LDO brings to a low-power rail
The Texas Instruments TPS76301DBVT is a single-output, adjustable positive LDO regulator rated for 150 mA continuous output. It takes an input up to 10 V and delivers an output adjustable from 1.5 V up to 6.5 V via external resistor divider. The quiescent current sits at 100 µA, with a maximum supply current of 140 µA — low enough for always-on or battery-backed rails. A 60 dB PSRR at 1 kHz gives it decent noise rejection for powering sensitive analog sections like op-amp supplies or ADC reference buffers.
Protection and control — what is built in
The TPS76301DBVT integrates over-current, over-temperature, and reverse polarity protection, so it can handle a miswired bench or a brief output short without letting the magic smoke out. An Enable pin lets you gate the output for sequencing or low-power sleep modes. No external protection diodes needed for most loads — the chip handles it.
Temperature range and package — where it fits
Rated for -40°C to 125°C, this regulator works in industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood automotive environments. It comes in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 package — a small, surface-mount footprint that fits tight layouts without forcing a move to a larger DFN. The SOT-23-5 is a common footprint, so board layout is straightforward.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
It is ROHS3 compliant. For volume or urgent BOM fills, this is a part we can quote and deliver without chasing an NCNR allocation.
