Power management for OMAP — what this chip does
The TPS65921B1ZQZR is a power-management IC for OMAP application processors in handheld and mobile devices. It integrates multiple voltage rails, sequencing, and housekeeping functions into a single 120-BGA Microstar Junior package.
Supply range and quiescent current
Input supply range is 2.7V to 4.5V, covering a single-cell Li-ion battery across its discharge curve. The typical supply current is 300µA — low enough that it doesn't dominate the system idle budget in a handheld device.
Not a full automotive-grade part, but the industrial range covers most mobile-device use cases.
