Its 39 µA supply current is the headline number for battery life: in a typical 3D glasses frame running a 120 Hz shutter cycle, that quiescent draw lets a 100 mAh Li-ion cell run through several movie-length sessions before recharge. The 2.5 V to 6.4 V input range covers a single-cell Li-ion (3.0-4.2 V) or two alkaline cells in series, giving the industrial designer flexibility on battery chemistry without a separate boost stage.
