Output current split and switching frequency trade-offs
The 3.5 A channel handles the primary rail — a core voltage or I/O supply — while the 2.5 A channel covers a secondary rail such as memory or peripheral power. The switching frequency can be set anywhere from 200 kHz to 2 MHz via an external resistor. Running at 2 MHz shrinks the inductor to a 1 µH to 2.2 µH footprint, ideal for space-constrained 24-VFQFN layouts; dropping to 200 kHz reduces switching losses for higher efficiency in thermally sensitive enclosures.
