Dual 5 A buck — the selection anchor
The 200 kHz to 1.6 MHz switching-frequency range lets you trade inductor size against efficiency — lower frequency for higher efficiency, higher frequency for a smaller footprint. The 32-HTSSOP exposed-pad package pulls heat from the die into the PCB copper plane, which is the difference between a 5 A design that runs cool and one that thermally throttles.
5 A per channel — what the current rating means for the BOM
Each of the two outputs is rated for 5 A continuous. That is the per-channel current, not a shared total — a 3 A load on channel 1 and a 4 A load on channel 2 both fit within the rating, leaving margin for transient peaks. The synchronous rectifier keeps the dropout low, so the output holds regulation down to near the 0.6 V reference.
