Dual buck with asymmetric current — which rail gets the 3 A
The TPS65270RGET is a dual synchronous step-down (buck) regulator from Texas Instruments. One output channel delivers 3 A, the other 2 A, both adjustable from 0.8 V up to 15 V.
Switching frequency and inductor sizing
The 24-VFQFN with exposed pad (4x4 mm body) demands a thermal-via array under the pad to the ground plane. The pitch limits breakout to the inner rows; a 4-layer board with a dedicated ground plane under the pad is the typical approach. The synchronous rectifier means the low-side FET is integrated, so no external Schottky is needed — but the exposed pad still carries the bulk of the thermal dissipation.
