Three-rail buck regulator for multi-voltage power trees
It accepts 4.5V to 16V input and delivers three adjustable outputs: one rated at 3A and two at 2A, with the minimum output voltage set at 0.8V. Synchronous rectification is built in, which keeps the efficiency curve competitive at moderate loads without external Schottky diodes. The 4.5V minimum input means the part runs off a 5V rail with margin, or a 12V bus directly. The 16V maximum input covers standard 12V intermediate buses and 15V rails, but does not tolerate 24V systems — that requires a different part or a pre-regulator. All three outputs are adjustable via external resistor dividers, so the same BOM position can serve 1.2V, 1.8V, 3.3V, or any value down to 0.8V without changing the IC. The 3A output is typically assigned to the highest-current rail (core or I/O), with the two 2A outputs handling auxiliary or analog supplies.
