Triple-output PMIC for multi-rail systems
The TPS65257RHAT from Texas Instruments integrates three synchronous buck converters in a single 40-VQFN package, delivering 3 A on one output and 2 A on the other two. This consolidates the power tree for SoCs, FPGAs, and processors that need separate core, I/O, and memory rails. Each output is adjustable from 0.8 V up to the input voltage.
Switching frequency and thermal envelope
Switching frequency is programmable from 300 kHz to 2.2 MHz. Running at the high end shrinks the inductor and output capacitor footprint; dropping to 300 kHz improves efficiency at light load. The trade-off is set by a single resistor.
