Satellite LNB bias supply — what the dual output voltages mean
It accepts a 4.5V to 16V input rail and delivers two regulated outputs: 13.4V and 18.2V, selected by a logic pin to switch between vertical and horizontal polarisation. The part integrates the power switch, compensation, and fault protection in a 20-WFQFN exposed pad package measuring 3x3 mm.
Input range and output selection — fit for the BOM
The 4.5V to 16V input covers the typical 12V or 5V intermediate rails found in satellite receiver boards, with headroom for ripple. The 13.4V and 18.2V outputs match the standard LNB supply levels per EN 50494; the single output pin switches between them, so the BOM needs only one inductor and one output capacitor.
Package and thermal — the exposed pad is not optional
Without it the junction temperature rises above the 85°C ambient ceiling at full load. The pad is also the ground return for the power stage — layout inductance between pad and input cap directly affects switching noise.
