Seven-rail PMIC for Cortex-A8/A9 and FPGA systems
The Texas Instruments TPS65218D0RSLR is a power management IC designed to supply the multiple voltage rails required by ARM Cortex-A8/A9 SoCs and FPGAs. It integrates seven output regulators from a single 2.2V to 5.5V input, covering core, I/O, memory, and auxiliary supplies in one 48-VQFN package.
The 2.2V to 5.5V input range lets the PMIC run directly from a single lithium-ion cell, a 3.3V or 5V system rail, or a USB bus — no separate pre-regulator needed. Seven independent outputs mean one chip can sequence the core, I/O, DDR memory, and peripheral rails of a typical Cortex-A8/A9 processor, cutting the PMIC count from three or four down to one.
