PMIC for single-cell Li-ion portable designs
The Texas Instruments TPS65217BRSLR is a power management IC (PMIC) targeting battery-powered handheld and mobile devices, with integrated support for battery management, display LED drivers, and general power-supply sequencing.
The 2.75 V minimum input means the PMIC can operate from a Li-ion cell well into its discharge curve (down to about 2.8 V under load), so the system does not need a separate boost pre-regulator to keep the PMIC alive as the battery drains. The 5.8 V maximum accommodates a 5 V USB input with margin for cable drop and hot-plug transients, but it does not tolerate 12 V or 9 V adapters — if the design needs a higher-voltage wall adapter, a front-end buck or LDO is required.

The 48-VFQFN Exposed Pad (6x6 mm body) requires a thermal land pattern on the PCB with multiple vias to the ground plane for heat spreading.
