The TPS65182BRGZT is a power-management IC from Texas Instruments purpose-built for the E Ink Vizplex display family — the same electrophoretic panels used in generations of e-readers and signage modules. It integrates the multiple voltage rails (gate, source, Vcom) that an E Ink panel needs, all from a single 3V to 6V input bus. Supply current is 5.5 mA typical, which keeps the quiescent draw low enough that the battery in a handheld reader isn't drained by the PMIC itself — the panel's own update current dominates the power budget.

Package and thermal: 48-VQFN with exposed pad

Housed in a 48-VFQFN with exposed pad, 7x7 mm body. Without it, the part derates faster than the datasheet curve shows. Surface-mount only. The 0.50 mm pitch on the outer leads is manageable on a two-layer board if the fan-out vias are placed inside the pad perimeter, but a four-layer stack with a dedicated ground plane under the exposed pad gives better thermal and electrical results.

Temperature grade: indoor and portable use

Rated -10°C to 85°C operating — fine for consumer e-readers, indoor signage, and office equipment. Not specified for automotive under-hood or extended outdoor exposure where -40°C cold starts or 105°C ambient are routine.
