LCD panel power IC in a 4x4 mm QFN
The TPS65146RGER is a dedicated TFT LCD supply IC from Texas Instruments, built for LCD monitors and notebook displays. It integrates the power sequencing and voltage generation needed to bias the source driver, gate driver, and common electrode of an a-Si TFT panel. The 24-VQFN (4x4) package requires a controlled soldering profile and a well-planned fan-out for the inner-row pins.
Input voltage range of 2.5V to 6V covers standard 3.3V and 5V rails. The 2.5V floor means it cannot run directly from a single-cell Li-ion battery (which drops to 3.0V at end-of-discharge) without a boost pre-regulator — a common oversight in portable display designs. It does not meet automotive AEC-Q100 grade requirements.
