Dual-output bias supply for portable displays
The TPS65132B5YFFR is a dual-output bias supply from Texas Instruments, designed to generate the positive and negative rails needed by LCD and OLED display panels from a single input voltage between 2.5 V and 5.5 V. It draws just 540 µA from the supply rail — low enough that a smartphone or tablet display driver IC can run continuously from a Li-ion battery without materially affecting standby time. The I²C interface lets the host processor program the output voltages and the power-up sequencing, which eliminates external resistor dividers and gives the firmware control over the panel bias during sleep and wake transitions.
Package and board-fit notes
Housed in a 15-ball DSBGA (0.5 mm pitch) package, the TPS65132B5YFFR mounts directly on the PCB with no through-hole connections — the 15-DSBGA footprint matches the supplier device package designation and requires a solder-paste stencil with 0.25 mm apertures for consistent ball wetting.
ROHS3 Compliant means no restricted substances above the exemption thresholds; the part ships without lead, mercury, cadmium, or phthalates, clearing EU and global regulatory gates without a waiver request.
