Quad-output TFT bias supply — what it does and why it matters
It takes a single input from 2.5V to 5.5V — think a Li-ion cell or a 3.3V/5V system rail — and generates the multiple voltage rails a TFT display needs: a main positive supply adjustable up to 20V, a negative supply adjustable down to -18V, plus two additional regulated outputs. That means one chip replaces the handful of separate boost and inverting regulators you would otherwise need to bias the gate drivers, source drivers, and common electrode of a typical LCD panel.
That is the official lifecycle status — no further production runs are planned.
Package and footprint — 3x3 mm QFN with exposed pad
Housed in a 16-VFQFN with an exposed pad, the TPS65121RGTT uses the 16-VQFN (3x3) footprint.
Temperature grade and application environment
That covers TFT displays in outdoor kiosks, automotive infotainment (non-engine-bay), industrial HMIs, and portable instrumentation that sees a cold start. The 2.5V to 5.5V input range means it runs happily from a single Li-ion cell through its full discharge curve or from a regulated 3.3V or 5V bus.
