Four-rail TFT bias generator in a 3x3 mm QFN
The TPS65120RGTT is a four-output DC-DC converter designed specifically for TFT LCD panel bias. It takes a 2.5V to 5.5V input and generates the three or four supply rails a TFT display needs: a main output adjustable up to 20V, a negative rail adjustable down to -18V, and two auxiliary regulated outputs (3V to 5.6V). Without it, the junction temperature climbs fast under load.
Industrial temp range and adjustable rails
The wide input range (2.5V to 5.5V) lets it run from a single lithium cell or a 3.3V/5V system rail without a separate pre-regulator. The negative rail capability (adjustable down to -18V) is what separates this from single-output DDR converters like the TPS53317RGBR or TPS51100DGQ. Those parts are DDR memory termination regulators — one output, no negative rail.
Package rework and pad layout
The centre pad is the main heat path and the ground return — lift the part by heating from underneath the board, not by prying.
