9-rail PMIC for multi-voltage systems
The Texas Instruments TPS6508640RSKT is a D-CAP2™ power management IC that integrates nine output rails from a single 5.6V to 21V input supply. It is designed for controller/converter applications, including digital cameras, where multiple regulated voltages (core, I/O, memory, analog) must be sequenced from one battery or intermediate bus.
Input range and output count — sizing the power budget
The 5.6V to 21V input window covers 2S Li-ion packs, 12V rails, and USB-C PD sources. Nine outputs let the designer allocate separate rails for the SoC core, DRAM, I/O banks, and camera sensor supplies without adding external LDOs or switchers. D-CAP2™ control provides fast transient response with no external compensation components, which simplifies the BOM and reduces PCB area around the PMIC.
The 0.50 mm pitch QFN demands a solder paste stencil with appropriate aperture ratios to avoid bridging.
It is not specified for extended automotive under-hood use (125°C).
