13-rail PMIC for FPGA and SOC power sequencing
The Texas Instruments TPS65086100RSKR is a D-CAP2™ power management IC delivering 13 independent output rails from a single 5.6V–21V input bus — a single-chip solution for powering FPGAs, multicore CPUs, and SOCs that need sequenced core, I/O, memory, and auxiliary voltages.
The 5.6V minimum input means this PMIC works directly from a 12V intermediate bus or a 2-cell Li-ion battery stack without a pre-regulator — but not from a single-cell Li-ion (3.6V nominal) or a 5V USB rail. Thirteen outputs cover FPGA voltage domains: core, transceiver, I/O, DDR memory, and auxiliary supplies.
Package and thermal — layout checklist
Surface-mount assembly on a standard reflow profile — the exposed pad requires a stencil aperture covering 50–70% of the pad area to avoid voiding.
It remains qualified for new designs and standard lead times apply through the distribution channel.
