What the supply range tells you about the rail
The TPS65072RSLT accepts 2.8V to 6.3V on the input, which means it can run directly from a single-cell Li-ion battery (3.0V–4.2V nominal) or a 5V USB bus without an extra pre-regulator. That range also covers 3.3V and 5V regulated rails common in OMAP™-based portable systems.
Temperature grade and board-level fit
It is not specified for under-hood automotive or extended outdoor exposure above 85°C — the 48-VFQFN package with exposed pad needs a good thermal via connection to the ground plane to keep the junction within limits at the top end.
