PMIC for battery-powered portables
The Texas Instruments TPS65055RSMR is a power management IC (PMIC) aimed squarely at handheld and mobile devices — think single-cell Li-ion or two-cell alkaline-powered gear where the supply rail can wander from 2.5V up to 6V.
Surface-mount assembly is standard, but the exposed pad is not optional: without it the junction temperature climbs above the 85°C ambient ceiling under sustained load.
That means it can be designed into new production BOMs without planning for an LTB event.
