Dual step-down converter for handheld power rails

The TPS65001RUKT integrates two step-down (buck) converters switching at 2.25 MHz, designed to generate core and I/O voltages from a single lithium-ion cell or a regulated 5V bus. The 2V to 6V supply range covers the full discharge curve of a single-cell Li-ion pack (3.0V–4.2V) plus margin, so no separate pre-regulator is needed on the board.

Without adequate thermal relief, the junction temperature rise from the dual converters will exceed the 85°C ambient ceiling on a dense board.
