Active production — a current-design buck-boost for the 3.3 V rail
The TPS63031DSKR: The 900 mA switch current rating and 2.4 MHz switching frequency target portable, battery-powered applications where board area and efficiency across the battery discharge curve matter more than raw output current.
2.4 MHz switching — inductor size and ripple trade-off
The 2.4 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a small inductor (typically 2.2 µH to 4.7 µH) and small ceramic capacitors, shrinking the total solution footprint — the 10-SON 2.5x2.5 mm package plus a few passives fits a cramped board edge. At this switching speed, the converter operates above the audible band, so there is no transformer whine in audio or sensor applications.
