Product details

Selectable switching frequency — 1 MHz vs. 2.2 MHz

The TPS62912RPUR lets you set the switching frequency to either 1 MHz or 2.2 MHz via a pin-strap or resistor. At 2.2 MHz the inductor and output capacitors shrink, which helps if board area is tight. Dropping to 1 MHz cuts switching losses and improves light-load efficiency, at the cost of a slightly larger inductor. Both frequencies keep the fundamental and its harmonics above the AM band, which simplifies input-filter design for automotive or industrial EMC.

Frequently asked questions

Does TPS62912RPUR require external compensation?

The TPS62912RPUR is internally compensated — no external compensation network is needed. The selectable switching frequency (1 MHz or 2.2 MHz) and the adjustable output are set with a few external resistors and the usual inductor and capacitors.
