4 A synchronous buck for tight rails
Its 2.4 MHz switching frequency keeps the inductor small, while the programmable output — from 0.4 V up to 1.675 V — suits low-voltage core and I/O supplies.
2.4 MHz switching — inductor size vs. efficiency trade-off
At 2.4 MHz, the switching period is about 417 ns. That allows a small-value inductor — typically 0.47 µH to 1 µH — which fits the 9-VFQPN (1.5x2.5 mm) footprint. The trade-off is higher switching losses compared to a 500 kHz part, but for a 4 A rail the efficiency curve peaks in the 1–3 A range where most point-of-load designs operate.
