3 A in a 1.6×1.6 mm footprint — the point-of-load workhorse
The 2.25 MHz switching frequency keeps the inductor and output capacitor values small — typically a 0.47 µH to 1 µH inductor and 10 µF to 22 µF ceramic output cap — saving board area versus a 500 kHz or 1 MHz alternative. The SOT-583 package (1.6 mm × 1.6 mm) with 0.50 mm pitch fits on a two-layer board with careful fan-out.
Junction temperature range and output configuration
The single positive output is adjustable via an external resistor divider; the internal reference is 0.6 V. Synchronous rectification is integrated, eliminating the external Schottky diode and improving efficiency at light loads. The device is surface-mount only in the SOT-583 package.
