Fixed 1.8V rail for point-of-load duty
TPS6282618DMQT is a Texas Instruments synchronous step-down buck regulator delivering a fixed 1.8V output at up to 3A continuous from a 2.4V to 5.5V input rail. The 2.2MHz switching frequency lets you keep the output inductor in the 1 µH range and the ceramic capacitors small, which saves board area on a dense 6-VSON-HR (1.5x1.5) footprint.
3 A output, 2.2 MHz switching, 125°C junction
At 3A output and 2.2MHz, the switching losses start to dominate the thermal budget above 3.6V input — plan the copper pour on the VSON pad to keep junction below 125°C.
Active production, ROHS3, 6-VSON-HR package
The 6-VSON-HR package (1.5x1.5 mm) has an exposed thermal pad; the datasheet recommends a 2-layer or 4-layer board with thermal vias under the pad to get the rated 3A out without hitting thermal shutdown. Tape & Reel and Cut Tape options are available for prototyping and volume.
