Automotive-rated 4 A buck in a 3x2 mm QFN
It is qualified to AEC-Q100, which places it in the automotive-grade component tier for under-hood and chassis-domain power rails. The 1.8 MHz to 4 MHz switching frequency range lets the designer trade inductor size against switching losses — a higher frequency shrinks the magnetics at the cost of increased gate-drive loss and EMI filtering effort.
Input and output voltage boundaries
The positive output configuration and the absence of a synchronous rectifier mean the low-side switch is external or the diode is used — check the application circuit for the intended topology.
9-VFQFN with wettable flanks
Housed in a 9-pin VFQFN measuring 3 mm x 2 mm (supplier device package 9-VQFN-HR), the part uses a wettable-flank surface-mount termination. The wettable flank enables automated optical inspection (AOI) of the solder joints — a requirement for automotive production lines that cannot rely on hidden solder joints under the package.
