600 mA point-of-load regulator in a 1.05x0.70 mm DSBGA
The TPS62806YKAT is a synchronous buck regulator delivering 600 mA continuous output from a 1.8 V to 5.5 V input rail, all inside a 6-bump DSBGA package that measures 1.05x0.70 mm. That footprint is the main event: it fits on the back of a sensor module or inside a wearable where every mm² of PCB matters.
Output voltage: adjustable down to 0.4 V or fixed 0.7 V
The adjustable version sets the output anywhere from 0.4 V to 0.775 V via an external resistor divider; a fixed 0.7 V option is also available under the same base number. That sub-0.8 V range directly powers the core of a modern MCU or RF SoC without a separate LDO. For a 1.8 V input rail, the 0.4 V minimum output gives a 1.4 V dropout headroom — the part runs in continuous conduction mode across most of the load range, keeping ripple low.
Industrial temperature grade and synchronous rectification
The 1.5 MHz fixed switching frequency stays above the AM band and keeps the inductor small, but it also means the loop compensation is internal — the output capacitor ESR and value are constrained to the range recommended in the datasheet. Stick with a 10 µF ceramic output cap and you are in the sweet spot.
The 6-DSBGA package is a 0.50 mm pitch, so the PCB land pattern and solder paste stencil aperture should match TI's recommended footprint to avoid head-in-pillow defects.
