2.9 V to 6 V input — USB and Li-Ion ready
The TPS62751DSKR is a step-down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments that accepts an input from 2.9 V to 6 V, covering USB bus voltage (5 V nominal) and single-cell Li-Ion battery range (3.0 V to 4.2 V). The single output is adjustable from 0.8 V to 5.1 V via an external resistor divider, which makes it a fit for powering a 1.8 V or 3.3 V rail on a portable or USB-powered board.
Output voltage range — 0.8 V to 5.1 V
The 0.8 V lower end of the output range directly powers the core voltage of many low-power MCUs and FPGAs. The 5.1 V upper end can serve as a 5 V rail for USB VBUS or small sensor supplies. A single external resistor pair sets the voltage — the BOM cost engineer should budget for two 1% resistors in 0402 or 0603.
10-WFDFN with exposed pad — thermal and layout
The small footprint suits space-constrained portable or USB dongle designs, but the layout engineer must allocate at least four vias in the pad for adequate heat transfer to the ground plane.
Procurement and sourcing posture
The TPS62751DSKR is an active Texas Instruments part.
