Product details

USB converter with adjustable output

The Texas Instruments TPS62750DSKR is a step-down converter optimised for USB-powered applications. It accepts an input from 2.9V to 6V, covering the USB VBUS range (4.75V-5.25V) as well as lower-voltage rails from Li-ion batteries or regulated supplies. The single output is adjustable from 0.8V to 5.1V, letting you set the rail to 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or any intermediate voltage with two external resistors.

2.9V to 6V input — USB bus and battery headroom

The 2.9V minimum input means the converter keeps running as a single-cell Li-ion battery discharges to 3.0V, with margin before the undervoltage lockout. The 6V maximum covers USB bus tolerance and 5V regulated supplies without needing an upstream LDO. Design the input capacitance for the full 6V rating — a 10V-rated ceramic cap at the input keeps the derating margin clean.

10-WFDFN with exposed pad — thermal and layout

The 0.50mm pitch limits breakout to two layers; a four-layer board with a dedicated ground plane under the converter is the safer bet for noise-sensitive USB loads.

It does not extend to under-hood automotive (125°C) or extended industrial (105°C) environments. If the BOM calls for a USB converter in a cabin-mounted display or an engine-bay sensor interface, look for a 125°C-rated part in the same family.
