The Texas Instruments TPS62748YFPT is a synchronous step-down (buck) converter rated for 300 mA continuous output. The programmable output voltage is set to either 1.2 V or 1.8 V, targeting low-voltage core rails for MCUs, Bluetooth LE SoCs, and sensor nodes.
1.2 MHz switching — inductor size and ripple trade-off
The 1.2 MHz switching frequency lets the designer use a small inductor (2.2 µH to 4.7 µH range) and keeps the fundamental ripple above the audio band. The trade-off is higher switching losses at very light loads — below 10 mA the efficiency curve drops faster than a 600 kHz part would.
