The Texas Instruments TPS627431YFPT is a synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter from the DCS-Control™ family, delivering up to 400 mA from a 2.15 V to 5.5 V input rail. The output is programmable between 1.3 V and 3.1 V. Switching at 1.2 MHz. Synchronous rectifier eliminates external Schottky diode.
This part is supplied in an 8-bump XFBGA / DSBGA package (8-DSBGA), requiring surface-mount assembly with a fine-pitch stencil and reflow profile suited for wafer-level chip-scale packages.
Output voltage programming and compensation
The TPS627431YFPT uses a programmable output voltage set by external feedback resistors; the minimum fixed output is 1.3 V, and the maximum is 3.1 V. Because the DCS-Control topology is internally compensated, no external compensation network is required — the loop is stable over the full output range with the recommended output capacitor. This simplifies the BOM and reduces placement cost compared to conventional voltage-mode or current-mode controllers that need Type-III compensation.
