Low-power buck for battery and wireless rails
The TPS62737RGYR is a step-down buck converter from Texas Instruments, designed to deliver up to 200 mA from a 2 V to 5.5 V input rail. The output is programmable — set via external resistors from 1.3 V up to 5 V — so you can dial in 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, or any intermediate rail without changing the IC.
Switching frequency and synchronous rectification
At 2 MHz, the converter runs above the AM radio band and well above audible frequencies, so the inductor won't whine. The 200 mA ceiling means this part is not for power-hungry radios during transmit bursts above that current — pair it with a larger regulator if the peak exceeds 200 mA.
Package, footprint, and hand-solderability
The 14-VFQFN Exposed Pad package (3.5 x 3.5 mm body) is a QFN with a centre thermal pad. The supplier device package is 14-VQFN (3.5x3.5). The exposed pad is electrically connected to ground (GND) on the IC. Ensure the PCB footprint matches the TI recommended land pattern in the datasheet — the centre pad dimensions and via count affect thermal resistance.
That covers most indoor, portable, and outdoor sheltered applications but excludes engine bays, direct sunlight enclosures above 85°C, or military-grade environments. If your design sees sustained temperatures above 85°C, look at the wider-temperature siblings in the TPS6273x family.
