5.5 MHz switching shrinks the inductor
The TPS62684YFFT switches at 5.5 MHz, letting you use a small 1 µH or even 0.47 µH inductor and low-value ceramic output capacitors. That saves board area in tight layouts like wearables, IoT nodes, or RF modules where every mm² counts. Output is fixed at 2.85 V — no external divider network needed. The 1.6 A continuous rating covers processor core rails, RF power amplifiers, or sensor supplies that pull a couple of amps on peak.
Input range and operating limits
Input voltage spans 3.25 V to 5.5 V, which directly covers a single-cell Li-Ion battery (3.0–4.2 V) and a 5 V USB bus. The synchronous rectifier keeps efficiency high across the load range, so you don't need an external catch diode.
Package and layout consideration
The 6-bump DSBGA has a 0.4 mm ball pitch typical — the PCB fan-out needs micro-vias or fine traces.
